After trying to post this message for half an hour on ASA forums I gave up.

Palmspringsbum shares my sentiments in part but I don't condemn all clubs.

For the record, I "don't condemn all clubs".

But it makes me sad, angry, and bitter when I see what once were truly clubs become drug stores. I fired off an email to the Santa Cruz City council (which I'm sure they ignored) about how their regulations had turned 'our' clubs into 'their' drug dealers.

It infuriates me that I cannot (after spending a half hour or longer just to get there) sit in the club and relax and socialize awhile. AND SMOKE.

Just for starters. And there is nowhere nearby to medicate either, as they all generally have ordinances prohibiting medication within 600-1000 feet.

I have fond, even loving memories, of 1444 Market...

...on the other hand, once Greenway learned that being criticized by Robert Norse was an advantage around here, they gave me the bums rush. In spades. They were excessively abusive and mean-spirited.

There are 1,000 'transitional' housing 'spaces' in Santa Cruz and every one is an SLE (Sober Living Environment). Last time I went by, their mental health drop-in had a sign saying "No Pot On Lot", evidently to let me and any other medical marijuana patients with a psychiatric disability (and therefore eligible to use the center, with it's computers, kitchen, piano, television, etc...) know we are NOT welcome. I have been homeless and sleeping on the sidewalk in Santa Cruz for over two years now. I am homeless because I am a medical marijuana patient who tried to provide my own medical needs and grow my own, because I did everything I could to KEEP FROM BEING DEPENDENT ON A MERCENARY FOR MY MEDICINE. I fought one eviction and won, but ASA and everyone else had more important things to do than fight for the right of a patient to GROW THEIR OWN.

And now that I'm homeless, deeply in debt, and often wish I were dead, instead of helping me adovcate for 'reasonable accomodation' for medical marijuana patients in Santa Cruz's homeless and social services, Greenway gave me the bum's rush.

I hope you'll help me encourage other people to come over here where the movement isn't directed from the 'Top' down, and the people it's supposed to be about can discuss things without being censored

I was present at ASA's launch. It was actually an event that was supposed to launch AAMC. But Steph and her group stormed the place, waving signs during the speeches and making noise until everyone followed to watch a series of people do an S&M number getting arrested for Brian Epis, supposedly.

Got to hand it to them, they crashed the party and stole the show.

I've had to approve each registration here individually to get the spammers out, so it can be days, or longer, before I get to new registrations.

palmspringsbum - you have violated several of ASA's forum rules with your disrespectful posts in this thread. I am locking this thread and please consider this a warning.

I hadn't seen this until today, prompted by your post to go back there.

One thing I noticed about that forum is it's set up so it's virtually impossible to follow any discussion. It's set up to SELL ASA, and any discussion is lost in the barrage of 1 message news-item topics.

Rebecca 'warned' me in another thread, I saw today. She hadn't locked that thread, so I 'reported' it as patient abuse.

I had to review the thread about 'honesty' to refresh my memory about what we were discussing. I find myself besieged by people who have nothing better to do (and many getting paid) to fuck up my life.

Considering I've been around awhile, and all I've lost and suffered, I do think Ms. Saltzman is being disrespectful to the point of corrupt, and beyond.

And, so I posted this just now on ASA's forum. We shall see how long that lasts.

Upon reading two warnings to me from Rebecca Saltzman here for being disrespectful I think it's appropriate to remind you of exactly who I am:

Although these ASA forums are very useful and informative....

...there are other forums discussing similar topics that visitors here might also find interesting. I've recently signed up with http://www.palmspringsbum.com/bbs/index.php and would encourage others to do the same. As a rule, I find that using several sources for info in forming opinions makes for greater strength.

So I hope that helps as lack of thorough communication has been the cause of many issues within the medical cannabis community. Promoting additional venues for exchange of ideas can only be an improvement.

Well, ASA Banned me. Unfortunately, I didn't get a copy of my last posting. I was trying to do that when I discovered I was banned. I'm curious how they did it. Even though I'm not logged in I cannot view the forums. Perhaps they blocked my IP?
