The Hawaii Reporter

The Associated Press now reports that cocaine is on the rise on the Big Island and Honolulu -- again. I have a sincere message to all prohibition-minded citizens, law makers, police, D.A.R.E., D.E.A. and others who profit from the failed war on drugs -- please STOP what you've foolishly and unConstitutionally been doing to us for decades. Give-up and turn-yourselves-in for treatment. Your addiction to a failed social policy plus your continuous promotion of disinformation about Cannabis is killing Hawaii's right to privacy, domestic tranquility and security. You have forgotten the example of alcohol prohibition, or have doomed us to repeat it while you get paid for it. Your counter-productive services were never required and they are no longer welcome.

Look at the results -- yikes. You have done more damage to Hawaii and her people than all of our so-called "enemies" put together. Terrorists? Bin Laden? North Korea? China? Russia? You prohibitionists have them beat by a mile. You guys couldn't be bigger failures at protecting us if you tried.

Gov. Linda Lingle, Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona, Narcotics Enforcement Director Keith Kamita, Prosecutors Peter Carlisle and Jay Kimura, Mayor Harry Kim, Hawaii County Councilmen James Arakaki and Dr. Fred Holschuh, Larry Burnette of the High Intensity Drug Trafficing Area agents just to name a few; the people can't take your "help" anymore. You have trifled with our personal liberties for way too long. A tragic example of your failure is the legislature just voting-away our precious Constitutional right to privacy for electronic communications because of your -- and their -- policy failures. Why should the good people of Hawaii be made to suffer the loss of freedom for your malfeasance?

Hawaii used to be lovely. Marijuana cultivation and enjoyment was a key part of that loveliness. Prohibition destroyed it. You blew-it and we let you. It's come-back time for freedom.

We all know that marijuana is -- at least -- "medical," yet the HPD Web site on "drugs" doesn't acknowledge this fact. Why? "Marijuana" is still scheduled a Class 1 substance in Hawaii law as having "no recognized medical value." How can that be, six years after it has been legal here for that very purpose? Only if the "system" is rigged.

Prohibitionists created, supported and funded the "green harvest" marijuana eradication program and it caused a substitution-factor of crack cocaine, heroin and "ice" for Cannabis. Simple as that. Then you exported the failed policy to other jurisdictions who now also suffer a "meth" epidemic. If a criminal is one who commits a crime or causes one to occur, you're likely the biggest criminals in Hawaii history.

How many of our children have your policies caused to be attracted to "ice" and crime? Who knows? You have DARED them away, the very psychology that attracts them even more. You refuse to account for it in program reviews or official studies or reports. You move the Constitutional goal-posts whenever it suits you. Who can blame you for that? I can. Too many of our neighbors and relatives rot in prisons here and on the mainland, yet you're hoping to retire comfortably with a big, fat, high-three pensions and cushy health benefits.

On your watch and because of your policies the people of Hawaii suffer and bleed for decades, but you always want for more money and manpower to continue your delusional programs until we're the worst "meth" capitol in the entire USA. When no one gets fired for this and you keep the failed programs going I call that malfeasance.

Prohibitionists; you have stolen far too much of the liberty, the freedom, the health and the hope of our good people. Now we want it back. Mahalo and aloha.
