Two men wearing ski masks and shirts with "Police'' stenciled on them bound a Sebastopol couple in their home and fled with medical marijuana this morning, the Sonoma County Sheriff's office reported.

Lt. Robert Giordano said the men were armed with shotguns and pistols. They bound 39-year-old David Eisenhauer and 36-year-old Heather Eisenhauer, identified themselves as police officers and demanded money. David Eisenhauer was beaten and shot with a device similar to a stun gun, Giordano said.

Police responded at 8:09 a.m. to the residence in the 8900 block of Bodega Highway. Heather Eisenhauer was not injured and David Eisenhauer was treated for minor injuries at Palm Drive Hospital and released, Giordano said.

Both suspects are white males dressed in dark clothing. One suspect is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150-160 pounds. The second suspect is 6 feet tall and around 220 pounds. The men fled in a dark blue or black mid-1990s Chevrolet Blazer, Giordano said.

(AP) SEBASTOPOL Two men armed with shotguns and pistols forced their way into a Sebastopol medical marijuana patient's home Monday by pretending to be police officers and made off with an undisclosed amount of pot.

The Sonoma County sheriff's department said the robbers wore ski masks and shirts with the word "Police" printed on them and identified themselves as officers after knocking on the door.

When the patient and her husband opened, the men pointed guns at the couple, demanded money and bound them.

The robbers also beat the husband and used a stun gun on him.

Investigators are trying to determine if it was a random attack or if the robbers knew the couple had medical marijuana in the house.

Authorities said the robbers escaped with both dried pot and marijuana plants.

A sheriff's department spokesman added that cases of people impersonating police officers are rare in Sonoma County.
